A second cousin once removed of international British skiing sensation Eddie the Eagle, Mr Hayward learned at an early age that he had little talent for ski jumping. He instead threw himself into training for the summer games, and was the alternate captain of the British team handball squad. A tragic blimp accident cut his handball career short, and he has been mixing drinks ever since.
