Gary Howard of Embers bags top prize in Woodford Reserve Manhattan Experience

After winning the local and regional bartending match, Howard of Embers Ski Lodge once again brought home the bacon by winning in the 2016 Woodford Reserve Manhattan Experience.

The Tennessean recently published a piece about Howard showcasing his expertise in creating uniquely crafted Manhattan cocktails during the competition.

“His wild card drink entry, using Woodford Reserve’s double oak whiskey, was the “Gentleman’s Carry-On,” to conjure up the days of classic rail travel when a drink and a cigar were part of the creature comforts.

The “Carry-On” uses Rivulet pecan liqueur, spiced cherry bitters, Carpano Bianco vermouth, the woody Woodford Reserve, and for a hint of that cigar smoke, a spritz of peaty Balmoral Scotch.
